Alison Meadows
- First Aid and Moving and Handling Trainer, IQA First Aid and Moving and Handling Courses
Having worked for many years as a qualified nurse specialising in Orthopaedics and Spinal Injuries I gained a BA Hons then a PGCE and qualified as a teacher in 2002.
I then worked in the adult sector delivering a variety of Public service and Public sector programmes at Runshaw and Blackburn Colleges I established AMTD in 2007 to deliver high-quality First Aid and Moving and Handling training. We work with awarding organisations to ensure quality of provision for our customers who range from Industry to the Care sector, Schools and Colleges.
I am proud of the reputation and relationships we have built and pledge our commitment to continuing to provide good value quality training. Our delegates tell us they enjoy the training and feel confident to use their new skills!
Val Shaughnessy
- IQA Moving and Handling Courses
I work with AMTD as an IQA ensuring the quality of the QNUK Level 3 Award for Moving and handling Trainers. My current role as home manager of an 80 bedded care home in Manchester requires me to have clinical responsibility for every aspect of care within the home. We have over 100 members of staff in this home and one of my roles is monitoring the quality of the training again in terms of the outcomes for the patients.
I have overall responsibility for risk assessing all the manual Handling practice and equipment used and have written many of the risk assessments myself.
I am a Registered Nurse with a PGCE following my BA Hons in Health and Social Care. I also have a specific interest in Dementia and gained the Post Graduate Diploma Dementia Studies (Training).
Sarah Mault
- Moving and Handling Trainer, IQA Level 3 AET and Moving and Handling Courses
I am an experienced, Health and Social care assessor, IQA and EPA with experience of delivering short sector-specific qualifications and Moving and Handling training. I have also delivered Access to Higher Education courses
I have a Diploma in Professional Healthcare Practice, a Cert Ed and IQA qualifications. I have previous management history within a Residential home and Rehab unit with domiciliary care services. I worked with Alison for several years at Runshaw college and support her quality-driven ethos. I work with AMTD to ensure the quality of the Level 3 AET and QNUK Level 3 Award for Moving and Handling Trainers (Health and Social Care) programmes.
Judith Ashton
- Trainer for Safeguarding Courses
I started working in the early years sector in 1996, and quickly developed a passion for safeguarding children and young people to make an impact on children’s lives. I have worked in management and safeguarding for health and social care and childcare for over 20 years, then due to family circumstances I made the career change and 8 years ago, I developed a training and development consultancy supporting settings with safeguarding and operational planning.
During this time, I completed a PGCE in teaching and education in the Lifelong learning sector. As an established tutor with a wide range of experiences throughout my career, I am able to share good practices and examples within the training to support learning.
Chris Goodwin
- A leading Paramedic since 1997 to a Divisional Officer and clinical team Mentor in 2005.
I have been training others since 1998. I am a fully qualified assessor and Trainer with experience of Incident Trauma management. I teach a variety of First Aid courses including higher-level trauma first aid.
I also specialise in Manual Handling for the Emergency Services using my extensive experience and continued status as a Paramedic to maintain the safety of the professionals I teach.
