Annual workplace fatalities rise !

Provisional data from the HSE shows that 142 workers were fatally injured at work between April 2014 and March 2015, an increase on last year’s all time low of 136. Some of the figures are  33 deaths in Agricultural workers, 5 waste and recycling workers, 35 construction workers. In addition are all the people who are made ill through work, often difficult to quantify as diseases may take years to appear for example Mesothelioma contracted through past exposure to Asbestos still killed 2538 people last year !
