The Forestry First Aid qualification is a two hour course that can be added to a 3 ( 18 hours ) day First Aid at Work qualification or a one day ( 6 hours ) Emergency First aid at Work qualification
This qualification is based on the:
• Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for delivery of First Aid at Work (FAW) courses for the
purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
• recommendations in the First Aid at Work – Forestry Commission Policy
Course content for Forestry First Aid – recognition and management of:
- Catastrophic bleeding
- Crush Injury
- Extremes of body temperature
- Lyme disease
Assessment:
1 practical assessment of catastrophic bleeding
1 short multiple choice paper
Entry requirements for Forestry First Aid
Learners must:
• Be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training
• Hold or be working towards either a regulated first aid qualification (minimum 1 day course),
prior to certification
Cost of Forestry
£40 added to either a 1 day EFAW or 3 day FAW booked through AMTD , students must accept a later finishing time
