Aims To provide students with information to help them understand and therefore provide effective care and support to people who have suffered a stroke.
Duration and Format This course is a 3 hour programme usually delivered over one morning afternoon or evening . The format of the training is tutor led training supported by power point and including some practical activities.
Course Content Students will be able to
- Explain the term stroke / Cerebral vascular accident
- Define the causes of a stroke
- Explain how to diagnose a stroke – FAST test
- Provide appropriate first aid care for a stroke victim
- Describe the impact of a stroke on a person
Assessment Guidelines and Student resources
There is no formal assessment for this programme. Students will receive handouts and a certificate of attendance from AMTD
Summary This course is delivered by a registered nurse with experience of caring for people who have suffered from a stroke
Cost £30pp or £250 per session maximum 10 people delivered in your workplace.
